Music Minute

This week's music minute about someone who is not only one of my biggest music inspirations, but fashion inspirations as well. Jhené Aiko is one of the biggest stars on the rise, and this year was nominated for not one, but two and a half awards at the 2015 Grammy's (the half part because she was featured on one song as well).

Having seen her live this year at the Austin City Limits Music Festival, I know first hand that the vocals on all of her tracks are no joke. This girl can SANG.​

Even more impressive than that, she took what many could have made to be an obstacle in life and turned it into a catalyst for a love of life and an amazing career. After becoming pregnant at a young age, Jhené could have allowed her unexpected child to stop her from pursuing her career, but she didn't. She is an incredible artist, and a role model for working mothers everywhere. That, my friends, is true talent, a true gift.

Her latest album has recently made it into my personal top five favorite albums of all time, so you know it's a good one. Full of emotional lyrics and chill vibes, this album is sure to take your opinion of Jhené the next level. I love this girl and her music, and I simply cannot WAIT to see what she does next.
