Come With Me to....Hawaii!

With winter and a slew of finals upon us, there's truly no place I'd rather be than exploring the warm shores of a tropical island. That's why this is the perfect time to revisit my trip this past summer to Hawaii!

We started things off with a gruesomely long flight across the Pacific. But never fear! Better things lay beyond the nauseatingly stiff seats of an airplane. We started off our adventure with a helicopter tour of the island. Talk about breathe-taking! From crystal blue ocean views to piercingly green rolling mountains, this island had it all folks.

Next, we went hiking up through the hills. We climbed through tunnels and across steam fields, and had an up close and personal encounter with Pele, the Volcano goddess herself. She provided us with quite a fantastic night-light, by the way.

Of course we had to sneak in some quiet moments of nothing on the beach. Just a good book and the waves folks. Nothing but good vibes here.

For the grand finale, we treated ourselves to a traditional Hawaiian luau. The saying here was eat until you feel full, and then when you get there, eat some more! Naturally, I happily obliged. The evening was filled with beautiful music and amazing traditional dances. A night well spent.

It's worth mentioning that I also tried some more adventerous activities while touring the island, like paddle boarding and zipplining in the rain! But alas, vlogged this trip on my phone, and the footage from those festivities is on my GoPro. Perhaps in another post? Let me know what you think!
